When kids learn to take care of their teeth early on, they grow into healthier, happier adults. February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and Hawai‘i Dental Service is celebrating with the 2023 HDS Tooth Fairy Fun Day, which, after a two-year hiatus, finally returns to Hawai‘i Children’s Discovery Center on Sunday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Going to the dentist can be a scary, intimidating event for some kids—but it doesn’t have to be! At the HDS Tooth Fairy Fun Day, kids will learn the importance of good dental habits in a comfortable, fun environment. Bring the whole family and enjoy oral health activities, games and prizes, plus free dental screenings by some of the island’s friendliest pediatric dentists. Keiki will also have the chance to meet the HDS Tooth Fairy and her friend and rival, the HDS Sugar Fairy, who will be giving out tooth timers and other oral health gifts to those who have lost their baby teeth!

Our tip: Come early! Admission to the 2023 HDS Tooth Fairy Fun is free for the first 500 HDS members, the first 500 Medicaid members, and their families. Don’t forget to bring your HDS membership card (visit hawaiidentalservice.com to access yours online). After the first 500, all HDS members and the general public will receive a special discounted $8 admission price for the Hawai‘i Children’s Discover Center, courtesy of HDS.

2023 HDS Tooth Fairy Fun Day takes place on Sunday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hawai‘i Children’s Discovery Center, 11 Ohe St., Honolulu, HI 96813. For more information, visit hdstoothfairy.com.
